Katy Perry is set to perform at the FARGODOME this Saturday, August 23rd. This concert has been much anticipated since it was announced back in January. A sell-out crowd is expected for the concert, although it appears that some tickets may actually still be available for the concert…if you’re in the right place at the right time. I went online earlier today to see if any tickets were available to purchase through www.inforumtix.com, and I was able to add two to my “cart.” A short while after that, I called the FARGODOME to ask if there were actually a few tickets left for the concert, and I was told that none were available at the moment, but some might be released, so keep checking.
This weekend also happens to be move-in weekend for area colleges, so we’ll have quite a few visitors in town for that. Barnesville Potato Days and the Island Park Craft Show are going on this weekend as well. As a result, hotel availability for this weekend is dwindling, so if you don’t already have a room booked, finding a room could be a bit challenging. Unless some rooms open up due to cancellations, you may have to broaden your search for a hotel room to outside the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Those planning to attend the concert on Saturday should be prepared to encounter some fairly heavy traffic on the way there. Also, there’s still construction happening on 19th Avenue North near the dome, so that could cause some additional traffic issues. The FARGODOME will open the doors to concertgoers at 6:00pm, and the show starts at 7:30pm. It would be a good idea to arrive at the FARGODOME around 7:00pm, especially if you don’t want to miss any of the opening act, Kacey Musgraves. If you’d rather avoid the hassle of driving, you can catch a ride on a shuttle. Here’s a list of the places we are aware of that are offering shuttle rides for the concert:
- Borrowed Bucks
- $8 shuttle ride to and from the concert with 2-4-1 drinks after the concert
- Hennessy’s Irish Pub
- $10 shuttle ride to and from the show with a free drink after the concert
- JT Cigarro
- $10 for a ride to the concert and back with free drink after the concert
- Shotgun Sally’s
- $12 for a ride to and from the concert, plus a free drink ticket
- Radisson Hotel Fargo
- $20 for a ride to and from the concert on the coach bus
- Sickies Garage
- $10 for the shuttle ride to the concert and back, includes a free drink ticket
- The Windbreak
- Shuttle to and from the FARGODOME
Leave us a comment if you know of other shuttles available for the concert, and we’ll add them to the list!
It’s going to be another eventful and exciting weekend in the Fargo-Moorhead area! Whatever your plans, have an enjoyable time!
