There were a lot of things going on this weekend in the Fargo-Moorhead area. We had Fargo Beer Festival, the Food Truck Festival, and West Fest but the greatest event of all… ESPN was in town for their show College Game Day. Now, I’m not a big football fan and didn’t exactly know what College Game Day was until last week. I had no idea the magnitude of enthusiasm that was going to fill the streets of downtown Fargo for this 3 hour show. Rumor has it people started lining up at 11pm the night before. At 8am I walked towards downtown, I could hear the roar of the crowd once I turned the corner of 7th Ave and Broadway, almost 4 blocks away from the masses of green and gold. As I walked by the storefronts of the businesses that lined Broadway, I was thrilled to see the NDSU Game Day signs, beautiful displays of bison gear and all things green and gold. This city really embraced the presence of ESPN. Although I am very proud to have spent my college years at NDSU you don’t have to be NDSU alum to be a Bison Football fan. Someone made a comment on our Visit Fargo-Moorhead Facebook page “NDSU Pride = Fargo Pride”. The way our community rallied together in the streets said just that.

I made the most of my access pass and weaseled my way into some pretty sweet spots for some pictures. Go Bison!
