No Lakes? No Problem. Fargo-Moorhead Is A Great Option For The 4th Of July!

The proximity of Fargo-Moorhead to “lakes country” offers great opportunity for both residents and visitors in the summer months.  However, the lake isn’t for everyone and in some years, a midweek holiday makes it difficult to hit the water for just one day. Fargo-Moorhead has some great options for all ages to celebrate this summer time holiday!

MSUM is hosting its 40th Annual 4th of July Celebration. This firework show is one of the biggest and best displays in the area! There is inflatable games, decorated bike parade for kids, music by Lake Agassiz Concert Band and the Front Fenders. Fireworks start at 10:30pm. Parking is free but we suggest you get there early!

The Bonanzaville 4th of July Celebration is a great way to spend the day in Fargo-Moorhead.  Bring the family and friends out for train rides, scavenger hunts, free flags, Broadway Dogs and Pat’s treats. You can even get your picture taken with Betsy Ross, the creator of the American Flag! If that isn’t enough fun for you, be sure to check out all the fun historic building and museums. They have a great car and air museum and Fargo’s first house! Bonanzaville will be open from 10am to 8pm.

Red River Zoo is another great option for the family. They specialize in endangered species and have one of the best Gray Wolf Exhibit in the region. While you are there, be sure to check out the newest addition to the Zoo at the Sichuan takin Exhibit. They will have half price children’s admission for the fourth. The zoo will be open from 10:00am to 7:00pm.

It’s suppose to be a hot one this year, so be sure to check out some of our local pools to beat the summer heat!

We hope you spend some time this fourth to explore the city and take in some great patriotic events!
